Hey everyone! As you know, my name is Danielle and I am the owner of Danie Marie Events. I am a Master Certified Wedding Planner and Ambassador through The Bridal Society, the leading Wedding Planning Certification Program in the world, and the largest membership of Certified Wedding Planners & Venues. We, at The Bridal Society, know how important hiring an educated Wedding Planner or Coordinator is. The Bridal Society is a wedding planner lifetime membership and certification program focused on raising the standards in the industry and ensuring that all couples have an opportunity to have the wedding day of their dreams.

Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Joey Mac Dizon, owner of The Mobile Cigar Lounge.
Welcome, Joey! Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.

Tell me a bit about your company.
The Mobile Cigar Lounge is 100% Veteran-owned and operated by myself and two of my partners. The company was founded in September of 2018 through our combined love for cigars and the unique experience it provides. We wanted to bring the sense of camaraderie that we got in the military along with that memorable experience to the civilian aspect. Special celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, and retirements. It’s pretty amazing how cigars and their scents can take people back to some fond memories – maybe it was your grandfather or father who smoked cigars when you were younger and the smell just transports you back to a good place.

The best part of entrepreneurship is taking what you LOVE and forming a business model in which you get paid to do that thing.

You always have to be a student. Even if you’ve already ear it before, you may pick up something different the second go-around.

Get a mentor, someone who’s in your industry and excelling in business. Get someone who has been through where you are and can help guide you to avoid wasting time, money and energy.

Treat every client as if they are your only client. Give them the attention they deserve.

Before you think about scaling your business, think about if you’ll be able to keep the same level of client experience when you bring in a higher volume of clients.

Extinguish any fires that may come up even before they start up. If it looks like you won’t be hitting a deadline, reach out days before that deadline and give them an update. Don’t wait until they realize that you missed the deadline.

Giving back to your community and to charities should be a necessity. Younger generations are focusing on businesses that give back. We want our money to do more than just buy things.

Serve as if you’re working for 1 person or for 1 Million.

How to incorporate a cigar bar into your wedding reception

How to incorporate a cigar bar into your wedding reception

Hosting a wedding is no easy task. You must develop a theme, establish a budget, hire many vendors, and entertain your guests. If you are still looking for inspiration to choose a theme and hire entertainment, we have the solution for you, a cigar bar.

I know it sounds uncommon, but cigar bars are a whole concept that can help you set the mood for your wedding. You will also entertain your guests with a unique experience filled with history and craft. Handmade cigars are an ancient craft that will interest your guests.

First, you need to find the right venue, one that allows smoking, find out what policies they have regarding ashtrays and disposal. Outdoor weddings are ideal to set up cigar bars, choose a space that is on sight but away from kids or food areas.

Outdoor weddings tend to have rustic or bohemian themes; they work nicely with the cigar bar aesthetic. For example, you can set up a space with leather chairs, rustic tables, and create a perfect mood incorporating festoon lights. Complement it with personalized signs that guide your guests to the area.

A professional tobacconist will welcome your guests and walk them through the experience. Cigar bars are more than a spot for your guests to smoke; they offer the knowledge of an ancient practice that has been perfected over centuries. It is an experience and a moment shared with those who you appreciate; it is a gift.

To set up a complete atmosphere, along with the beautiful display of the mobile cigar, you can add a whiskey bar. Your guests’ experience will be complete with a specific whiskey paired with the cigar of your choice. Your guests will explore the world of cigars and whiskey the right way, by the hand of an experienced tobacconist and veteran entrepreneur.

If you are hosting an elegant or vintage wedding, a cigar and whiskey bar can fit right into your reception. You can add decorative details like vintage decanters as flower vases or set up an elegant table to accommodate your personalized and individual take-home bags. Consider art deco furniture to provide a chic and elegant look to the lounge area where the cigar roller will install.

Weddings are unique events; they gather family and friends to celebrate two individuals’ love and union. When you celebrate something as powerful as love, you want to create memories that will last a lifetime. Cigar bars are more than unique experiences. Your guests will remember the moment they shared with their loved ones over a cigar, which is what life is about moments.

We are a team of experienced tobacconists and veterans that love to share our knowledge and bring a luxury experience to your wedding and events. If you are planning a unique wedding, we are here to take it to the next level; your guests will forever treasure the mobile cigar experience.
